Blink-182 To Unveil “Up All Night” On Tour

Having abandoned the idea of completing a full new album as "too ambitious" before its upcoming tour, blink-182 will instead have one new song ready before it hits the road on July 23 in Las Vegas.  Guitarist Tom DeLonge tells Billboard.com that the track, titled "Up All Night," has "got a little bit of (Pink) Floyd, a little bit of Rush, a little bit of blink in there.  It's crazy, but it somehow sounds exactly like where we left off (in 2005).  It's an amazing song."  DeLonge says the tune is nearly finished, waiting just for Travis Barker to complete his drum tracks.  Release plans haven't been determined yet.

Cheap Trick To Do Sgt. Pepper In Vegas Run

Cheap Trick wants you to want to hear the Beatles.  Las Vegas Hilton officials say the 80s rock group best known for "I Want You to Want Me" will band with an orchestra to perform the one of the Beatles' most popular albums during a special run in Las Vegas.  Hotel spokesman Ira Sternberg says Geoff Emerick, the producer of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band will be on hand for nine shows performed live -- start to finish -- in September at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater.  The Hilton shows, "Sgt. Pepper Live" featuring Cheap Trick, are being produced by Bill Edwards Presents Inc.  Sternberg says tickets to the September 13-15, 17-19 and 21-23 shows will start at $65.

Aerosmith To Play Entire Classic Albums On Summer Tour

Aerosmith plans to play more than one album in its entirety on tour this summer.  The Boston rockers performed all of their 1975 classic "Toys in the Attic," save for the album-closing "You See Me Crying," during the first two concerts of the trek and issued an official statement to that effect on Monday.  But guitarist Joe Perry also told Reuters during the weekend that the group plans to switch in a couple of weeks and play 1976's "Rocks" in its entirety.  He did not say whether the group would stay with "Rocks" or alternate the albums in their set for the duration of the tour -- or even work in another of the band's albums in its entirety.  Perry also said that frontman Steven Tyler found it too difficult to sing "You See Me Crying" right now but is working on it and may add the song in future shows.  Aerosmith comes home on Tuesday to play at the Comcast Center in suburban Boston, when ZZ Top will jump on the bill for the remainder of the trek, which wraps up September 16 in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Alice In Chains Name New Album

After revealing that a new album would be coming in September, Alice In Chains has now released the title and exact release date for their first studio work in over a decade.  It will be called Black Gives Way To Blue and the record will come out on September 29 via Virgin/EMI.  The group worked with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters) and recently finished mixing at Henson Studios in Hollywood.  Of course, it will be their first album featuring new singer William DuVall.  On July 18, Alice In Chains will be sharing the stage with Kid Rock in Detroit, to be followed by festival shows with Metallica overseas.  They’ll wrap up the European trip with a string of headlining shows in August.  This marks the band’s first appearance in Europe since the summer of 2006.
